An Aaamazzarite

Aaamazzarites, also known as Therbians, are a species of arachnoid humanoids indigenous to the planet Aaamazzara and possibly also inhabiting a planet known as Therbia, perhaps where they were first discovered by the Federation of Planets (which would explain why they would then later obtain the more proper name of "Aaamazzarite"). It can be assumed that they evolved with the aid of DNA traces left over by the Ancient humanoids. They were not a common sight amongst the galaxy within the 23rd Century.

The Aaamazzarites generate their clothing from their own mouths. In fact, everything on their homeworld Aaamazzara, including furniture, is produced biochemically from inside their own bodies, in much the same way that Terran bees make hives. The Aaamazzarites were visitors on Earth in the 23rd century.

The Aehiuan are a pre-industrial humanoid race inhabiting the planet Aehiuan IV in the Romulan Star Empire. The Aehiuan live in cities and villages scattered throughout their mountainous world and have developed a culture based mostly on hunting, farming and war. A network of roads connects some of the more populated areas.

The Aehiuan are rather violent in nature, having killed several Romulan scientists sent to study them in the past. The Romulan Science Institute has now gone to great lengths to conceal their activities on the planet, and scientists stationed there never leave their protected facility without a weapon.

The planet's star is unstable and produces a form of radiation deadly to Romulans and other species. The Aehiuan, though, and all native life on the planet, have a natural immunity to the radiation.

The Akritirians are a warp-capable civilization native to the planet Akritiri, in the Delta Quadrant. They are humanoid, with a slight ridging on their forehead.

They have an oppressive government and a system of justice that, by the standards of the Federation, is cruel, draconian and inhumane. In this system, once a person is convicted of a crime, the conviction can not be overturned, even if conclusive evidence that proves his innocence iss uncovered. He would be sentenced to life in a brutal prison: the Akritirian maximum security detention facility. There, the prisoners are induced to kill each other through synaptic manipulation.

A violent group called Open Sky acts against the government. Although considered terrorists by the government, they regard themselves as patriots.

Antedeans are a civilization native to the Alpha Quadrant. They are a species of fish-like humanoids from the planet Antede III.

Antedeans find space flight extremely traumatic and survive the ordeal by entering a self-induced catatonic state. Upon arrival at the end of a voyage, Antedeans require great quantities of food, known as vermicula, to replenish their bodies. Few humans have seen an Antedean in the flesh. Antedeans have unsophisticated minds that could be easily read by Betazoids.

Outwardly identical to Humans, the Argelian race is known for its hedonistic, peace-loving nature. This was acquired after undergoing a period in Argelian history known as the Great Awakening circa the 2060s, which fundamentally reformed their society from violent to placid. Since the Great Awakening, the Argelians have adopted a pacifist way of life, deploring any form of violence. Some Argelians possesses psychic powers, but it is not a common characteristic to this race. This pleasure-loving cultural trait makes it necessary to import administrative officials from other worlds to maintain order.

Their saliva has healing properties, as it can quickly repair skin abrasions. Their cellular structure is not capable of handling rapid temperature changes.

In the early-2050s, the Arkonians achieved warp capability. The Vulcans soon made first contact with them, but it wasn't incredibly successful. They proved to be suspicious and deceitful, and the Vulcans were soon recalled.

For more than a century after that, the Arkonians and the Vulcans had rocky relations. Arkonian destroyer captains would be wary of any ship that had even a single Vulcan on it.

The Axanar are an androgynous, humanoid, Beta Quadrant species with an average life span of 400 years. They are native to the planet Axanar.

The Axanar body produces triglobulin from its zymuth gland. This substance has medical and aphrodisiac properties, and is used by a number of different species for those purposes. Some even forcefully 'harvest' Axanar for their triglobulin.

The Axanar apparently prefer a nitrogen-methane atmosphere.

By the mid-23rd century, a military conflict had broken out at the site of the Axanar's homeworld, involving the United Federation of Planets, Star Fleet and Captain Garth of Izar. Izar was victorious in what became known as the Battle of Axanar and his exploits in the action would become required reading at Star Fleet Academy.

The B'Saari are an intelligent spacefaring species, native to the planet B'Saari II.

They were the first sentient species with whom the Denobulans made contact with prior to the 15th century. Before this encounter, most Denobulans had believed themselves to be the only intelligent species in the galaxy. Some refused to believe otherwise even with evidence to the contrary standing before them.

The B'Saari had a technique for reviving the dead not unlike the procedure done in the Earth film Frankenstein, although the revived weren't capable of more than basic neural and metabolic functions.

They inhabit the same region of space as the Kesat, who until 2376 regarded the Ba'neth as a myth since so little was known about them. Despite this, a Kesat investigator, Naroq, believed that they existed and spent much of his career searching for proof.

Through 2376 there had been twelve incidences of ships being attacked by unknown assailants in that region of space. No crew belonging to the ships attacked had ever survived until the Delta Flyer, a shuttlecraft belonging to the USS Voyager encountered a Ba'neth in that year. Lieutenant Tuvok was assaulted when he interrupted it downloading tactical information from the Flyer's computer.

The species were found to utilize cloaking technology to help them remain undetected, and to observe other species traveling through their space. Captain Janeway sought the help of Naroq, who had devised a method of illuminating the cloak, to try to find the Ba'neth. Having modified Voyager's deflector dish, and knowing the cloaking frequency which Tuvok remembered from his scan, Janeway located a Ba'neth space station. They admitted to attacking the ships to assess the threat that they posed, and agreed to trade the photolithic converter used to find them for information that would help to treat the still-affected Tuvok.

Groppler Zorn, a Bandi

The 'Bandi are a humanoid race who inhabit the planet Deneb IV. Their technology is not particularly advanced, and their architecture is surprisingly simple.

During the mid-24th century, a group of Bandi captured an injured spaceborne entity and brought it to the surface of Deneb IV. The Bandi nourished the lifeform back to health, but kept it only strong enough to use its unique ability to change energy into matter. Too weak to leave the surface, the creature was imprisoned on the planet and forced to manifest itself as Farpoint Station.

In the year 2364, the lifeform's mate came to Deneb IV to free it, attacking the nearby "Old Bandi City". This attack lead the crew of the USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-D to realize the nature of Farpoint Station and give aid to the injured creature, allowing it to rejoin its mate in orbit of Deneb.

When leaving their homeworld, they have to wear a breathing device which provides them with the gases that are found in the atmosphere of Barzan II. The Barzan II atmosphere is toxic to many other humanoid species.

The Barzans are a resource-poor species and only moderately technologically advanced. When the Barzan wormhole was discovered in 2366 the lack of other resources was a major factor in the Barzans' decision to sell rights to the wormhole to the highest bidder.

The Benkarans live within the territory controlled by the Nygeans, who view them as predisposed to criminal behavior. Although they only comprise ten percent of the overall population, Benkarans make up eighty percent of the population of Nygean jails. Benkarans are also ten times more likely to be executed for a crime.

Several Benkarans were employed at the Primary Energy Facility on Quarra. One seemed to be a high-ranking monitor, since she worked at a console that controlled the access to main power through out the Capital.

The Bijani are a humanoid species that are an offshoot of the Kobliad species, but have developed a smaller naso-cranial ridge. They were encountered by the Federation in the 24th century on the planet Bijan, which is located in the Alpha Quadrant. The species is more commonly known to be nomadic stellar-wanderers. Following their acceptance into the Federation, some members of the species have decided to join Star Fleet.

The Bijani have a unique ability: when in great pain their body is flooded with adrenaline and it has a unusual effect on their neuropsychology. They enter a pain-trance that allows the body to continue working while not being affected by their own level of pain. This also helps by pushing their body’s limits. |

Bothan infiltrator (2372).

The Botha are a reclusive, apparently humanoid species who inhabit a region of space in the Delta Quadrant. Hostile to outsiders, most vessels which enter their space are never seen again.

In 2372, the USS Voyager entered their space and attempted to negotiate passage. Almost the entire crew was neutralized in an elaborate series of hallucinations, apparently caused by a powerful psionic field generated by three Bothan ships. The hallucinations began with various elements from the target's memory, and gradually became more inclusive until the person entered a comatose state, trapped in a fantasy reality.

The Bothan telepathy was defeated by Kes, who was able to "mirror" their attacks back onto the perpetrator. This allowed her to trigger a resonance burst from the warp core, which blocked the Bothan's psionic field. However, both the Bothan on Voyager and his ships were illusions, disappearing after informing Captain Kathryn Janeway that he had no reason for attacking them other than that he could. The Botha's true nature was never discovered.

Sobi, a Brekkian male

Brekkians are a humanoid species native to the planet Brekka. They, like the Ornarans, possess the natural ability to generate electrical discharges with their bodies.

A century ago, the Brekkians helped the Ornarans survive a deadly plague, by supplying them with the medicine felicium, which is available only on Brekka.

By the 24th century, the plague was wiped out, but the Brekkians exploited the situation by concealing this fact from the Ornarans, and they continued supplying them with the drug, to which they eventually became addicted. Generations of drug addiction and dependence resulted in a loss of intelligence to the Ornarans, which the Brekkians exploited even more.

By 2364, the Ornarans had lost their ability to transport the felicium from Brekka to Ornara. This put the economy of Brekka under threat, because they'd become dependent on the income from the sale of felicium to the Ornarans, and the sole remaining industry on Brekka was the production of the drug.

It is unknown what happened after this.

The Bringloidi are a group of humans who settled on the planet Bringloid V in the Ficus sector sometime in the early 22nd century, after departing Earth aboard the SS Mariposa.

The Bringloidi are a group of primarily Irish descent, who left Earth as part of the Neo-transcendentalist movement that followed World War III and first contact. Despite their rejection of technology, the colony prospered due to the Bringloidi's use of traditional techniques for providing their own textiles and food.

In 2365, the Bringloidi, led by Danilo Odell, were forced to evacuate aboard the USS Enterprise-D due to increased solar flare activity in their star system. At Captain Jean-Luc Picard's suggestion, they eventually merged with the clone-based society of the Mariposans, also descended from those on the SS Mariposa.

It can be assumed that the name Bringloidi is based on the Irish word "Brionglóidí", meaning "dreams."

The Calamarain communicate with high-pitched noises and grindings. They emit Berthold rays when probing something.

When Q lost his powers in 2366 and was exiled to the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D to live as a human, the Calamarain sensed the chance for revenge and attacked Q and the Enterprise. To save the ship, Q took a shuttle to divert the Calamarain's attention away. This noble deed convinced the Q Continuum to restore his powers. Q immediately attempted to exact retribution against the Calamarain, but Q2 forced Q to let the Calamarain go without harm.

They were bought out by Devinoni Ral, who represented the Chrysalians. Ral brought up the tremendous amount of administration which would be needed to manage the wormhole and the high amount of traffic it would experience, which the Caldonians felt they were unable to handle. Commander William T. Martia, a Chameloid
An Allasomorph in it's true form

General

Changeling refers to any race with the ability to change its external physical features. The degree of physical transformation varies between different species. Some, such as the Chameloids and the Allasomorphs of Daled IV, are only able to change between humanoid forms. Others, such as the Founders from the Gamma Quadrant, are capable of mimicking virtually any phase of matter, including fog and fire, down to the molecular level.

They were noted for their capacity to alter their form to levels that were beyond that of similar shape changing species such as the Wraith, Vendorian and Chameloid races. (TLE novel: Night of the Wolves) In their most basic state Changelings resemble a golden translucent liquid. (DS9 episode: "The Search") This gelatinous substance which was held in a morphogenic matrix that activated into different shapes and textures through the use of a special enzyme. This allowed a Changeling to adopt any shape and texture that they desired so long as they studied the shape long enough. They were unable to mimic an object through a simple glance and were required to see enough of the item or person they wished to copy in order to perfectly take its form. But, by doing so, they were able to create a sophisticated facsimile of flesh and matter; allowing them to even take on clothing. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens) Changelings can take on almost any form; liquid, solid, gas and even plasma such as flames. Their abilities are limited mainly by their mass: they comfortably take on humanoid forms, but can also take the forms of things somewhat larger, and a great deal smaller. (DS9 episode: "The Search") The level of mimicry was so accurate that no known scanning technology was able to detect a Changeling once it had adopted a chosen form. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens) When a Changeling takes a form - such as a rock - Federation scanners would read the Changeling as a rock. (DS9 episode: "The Adversary")

However, any piece of the mimicked item that was separated from the main body such as blood samples reverted back to their gelatinous state. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens) Any portion of a Changeling's body that becomes separated from the main body reverts back to its natural state. The fact that a person was bleeding was often accepted as proof that a person was not a Changeling as if they were their blood would've reverted to its natural state. (DS9 episodes The Adversary, The Way of the Warrior, and Homefront). Furthermore, phaser's that were set on heavy stun were able to force a Changeling to revert to its natural form. In addition, a Changeling that was killed also changed back to its true shape. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens) In addition, a special quantum stasis field was capable of preventing a Changeling from altering their form. (DS9 episode: "The Die is Cast")

Whilst they were capable shapeshifters, a Changeling was required revert to its liquid state every sixteen hours to regenerate. (DS9 episode: "The Search") At such a time, they had to spend least a single hour a day to revert back to its gelatinous form whereupon they rested and rejuvenated. They were able to resist this for a limited amount of time but they would eventually forcibly revert against their will and be unable to take a shape until they had rested. Some Changelings were capable of withstanding this reversion longer than others with some being noted as being able to last a week before changing back to their gelatinous state. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens)

Changelings often had an intense desire to merge together and join the Great Link; typically this was at least once a week if not more frequently. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens) In order to accomplish this, they simply reverted to their liquid based form and merged together whereupon a link was established as their forms blended together. (DS9 episode: "The Search, Part II") Only foundlings were usually able to resist this urge which was due to the fact that they had been raised without knowing of the Link and thus retained some degree of individuality. This was often an alien concept to the other members of the Great Link. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens) As such, they often thought of a single member of their race as a drop in a larger ocean and thus saw little sense in individual identity. (DS9 episode: "The Search, Part II")

The morphogenic matrix of a Changeling was not perfect and it was capable of suffering from instabilities that could threaten their lives. A Changeling was able of being infected by disease and could spread this instability to the rest of their race through the Link thus threatening the entire species with such an ailment. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens)

The thoughts and emotions of Changelings could not be read by telepathic races such as the Betazoids. (DS9 episode: "Fascination") They were also able to survive in the vacuum of space, and were highly resistant to disruptor fire. (DS9 episodes: "Chimera", "Apocalypse Rising") The unique nature of the species meant that were were resistant to Borg assimilation. A Changeling was simply able to compress themselves and eject any nanoprobes within herself without any ill effects to them being seen. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Lesser Evil)

It is apparent that Changelings are themselves warp-capable as Laas pursued and overtook a Runabout while at warp speed.

A Chokuzan commander.

The Chokuzan may be a humanoid species native to the Delta Quadrant.

In 2377, while Q Junior was under Captain Janeway's care, he stole the Delta Flyer II and took Icheb with him as they escaped through a spatial flexure. Once they exited it, far from USS Voyager, they were hailed by a Chokuzan starship, who ordered them to surrender their vessel, as they were trespassing in Chokuzan space. After receiving phaser damage from the Delta Flyer, the Chokuzan commander fired a weapon at the shuttle, which disrupted Icheb's tactical console and injured him with omicron radiation. Junior panicked and returned to Voyager for treatment.

Later, when Janeway and Junior returned to the Chokuzan ship, the commander revealed himself to be Q, and he was just testing his son's response.

It is not stated whether the Chokuzan are a real species or not.

The Chrysalians are a spacefaring race native to the planet Chrysalia in the Alpha Quadrant. They are a neutral people who have been at peace for 10 generations and now are "uninvolved in all interstellar matters of consequence." They seem to have unbalanced birthrates with women outnmbering men by four to one.

In 2366, they hired a human, Devinoni Ral, to handle their affairs in negotiation for the Barzan wormhole. The Chrysalians felt they had the resources, technology and science to oversee a wormhole, and Ral was able to secure exclusive rights to the wormhole by manipulating the Caldonians, the Ferengi, and the Federation. Eventually, the wormhole was determined to be useless, and Ral expected the Chrysalians to be quite angry when he returned to report to them.

The Cravic were a specie of beings who used to exist in the Delta Quadrant. They were at war with the Pralor, and both sides built automative units to aid in their war. When the two races called a truce, they tried to dismantle their now-surplus units. However, the units terminated their builders to ensure their survival, and continued the war.

In 2372, the crew of the USS Voyager encountered a Cravic vessel manned by Cravic Automated Personnel Units. The technology of the Cravic ship is roughly equal to that of the Pralor, each with more powerful weapons, but slower engines than Voyager.

Note: This is NOT a PC and NPC rated species.

The Crystalline Entity was a powerful, spaceborne creature characterized by a crystalline structure that resembled a large snowflake. It had warp speed travel capability, formidable size, and the ability to consume all life on a planet or starship. Its origin was somewhere in Delta Quadrant.

The Entity functioned as a giant electromagnetic collector and needed constant power, converting organic matter into energy. Once the Entity ravaged a planet, its natural resources were completely stripped. No further life would be able to grow for many years. Everything, including vegetation and bacteria, was completely converted. Bitrious matter was usually deposited in the Entity's wake, as were elevated levels of hydrocarbons, lanthanides, and nitrates. The Entity was unable to penetrate rock lined with both kelbonite and fistrium. Both metals needed to be present in order to refract the Entity's absorption power. The shields of a Galaxy starship were also impervious to the Entity. Dr. Kila Marr was one of the Federation's foremost experts on the Crystalline Entity, studying twelve attack sites including Forlat III.

The Entity, to which thousands of deaths are attributed, attacked the planet Omicron Theta in 2336, stripping all living material from the entire colony and killing many inhabitants, including Raymond Marr, Kila Marr's son. Colony residents Dr. Noonien Soong and Juliana Soong both fled during the attack aboard an escape pod, although Juliana Soong was severely injured. The android Lore was an ally of the Entity and responsible for luring it to Omicron Theta. He tried to "feed" the crew of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D to the Entity after he was revived in 2364. Enterprise's shields were enough to protect it from the Entity, and Lore was eventually transported into space. The Crystalline Entity retreated to parts unknown.

In 2368, the Crystalline Entity destroyed the fledgling colony on Melona IV. Two colonists, including Carmen Davila, were lost in the attack. Most of the colonists survived, thanks to a cavern lined with kelbonite and fistrium. The Enterprise rescued the survivors and brought Dr. Marr to the planet so she could further study the attack. She worked with Lieutenant Commander Data in order to develop a technique to communicate with the creature.

The Enterprise intercepted the Entity after it had killed the entire crew of a freighter, the Kallisko. They attracted the Entity by emitting graviton pulses at 10 per second from the Enterprise, as lower pulse rates had no effect on the creature. The creature approached the Enterprise, replying with a series of graviton pulses that the Enterprise crew interpreted as meaningful, but which it needed time to decode. Marr increased the pulse rate, eventually trying a continuous graviton emission. The Entity stopped emitting pulses of its own as the emissions drove it into resonance. The Enterprise crew tried to stop the emissions, only to find that Marr had isolated the access code for the emission controls. Before the crew could halt the emissions, the resonance shattered the Entity.

It is unknown whether the Crystalline Entity was a unique lifeform or simply a single member of a species.

Devidians in their true form

Devidians are a vaguely humanoid, shapeshifting species native to Devidia II. They are between 2 and 3 meters in height, and have no apparent eyes. They possess an orifice on what most humanoids would call their forehead that resembles a mouth. They live out of phase with most other lifeforms with a phase variance of 0.004. They also possess the ability to travel through time.

Devidians' only useful form of nourishment is Human neural energy. They acquire this energy by draining the subject of their neural energy, killing the subject. They preyed on humans from 19th century San Francisco using the cholera epidemic at the time as a cover for their murders.

In 2369, the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D fired modified photon torpedoes on the Devidians' cavern habitat to prevent them from further incursions. It is unknown whether this wiped out the species, or simply stopped them for a short amount of time.

The Dinaali (or the Dinaal) are a humanoid species from the Delta Quadrant.

The Dinaali are virtually identical to Humans in their outward appearance. However, their internal workings show several differences.

Up until the mid-24th century, the Dinaali were plagued with overpopulation, and a medical service that didn't treat the people it needed to. So the Dinaali government asked the Jye to intervene, a species known for their administrative abilities, and they reorganized the Dinaali medical system.

In the new system, each citizen received a "T.C." or Treatment coefficient, which designates how useful a person is to society.

In 2377, The Doctor was stolen by Gar and sold to a Dinaali medical ship. While there, he tried to "re-allocate" some medication so that the amount of medication a person received was based on how badly they needed it, not how "useful to society" they were.

The Drayan people are a humanoid species from the Delta Quadrant planet Drayan II. They were encountered by the USS Voyager in 2372.

In appearance they are humanoid with only a scaly, triangular patch at the center of their hairline to differentiate them from Humans. They wear drab clothes and cover all exposed skin with a thin black veil.

They are warp-capable, but several generations ago decided that their obsession with technological improvement was harming their species. As a result they have withdrawn into their own star system and hardly ever make contact with other species.

They believe that the body is merely a reflection of a higher existence and put this belief into practice with their death rites. Unusually, the Drayan aging process is the reverse of that of Humans: their elders appear to be children. Around their ninetieth year they feel a call to a cave on one of their moons and go there to die. The process of their death is uncertain but they leave no bodies, only a pile of clothing.

The exact Drayan aging process was never elaborated, although it is unlikely that they are born elderly. Most likely, they start reverting to childhood when they reach middle age. If they are indeed born as elders, they share their aging process with the beings from the Antimatter universe.

A member of the Dream species

The "dream species" are a species found in the Delta Quadrant. They are humanoid with prominent head ridges and orange skin.

Although they are corporeal, they use technology to exist in a collective dream state. They broadcast this collective dream into the surrounding space and used it to trap starship crews in a shared dream. The crews then eventually perished as their bodies lacked consumption of food and water. This seemed to be a defensive measure although it may have been a method of attack. It is also unknown if this species operated real starships, because any seen in the dream state may have been illusionary.

The species (or at least a group of them) were found as hundreds of sleeping bodies in a cavern on a planet, near a machine that created a neurogenic field that allowed the dream state to exist.

The species was encountered in 2374 by the USS Voyager but was defeated by Lieutenant Commander Chakotay, who had unusual command of his dream using a technique called lucid dreaming. With this method, he was able to locate the sleeping aliens in a cavern on a planet. He then dismantled a transmitter that the aliens used for their dream attacks, ending the crew's nightmares.

The dream species might wake up from time to time as a collective, because most humanoids have to feed and reproduce, which they probably cannot do in their sleep mode.

Jareth, an Enaran
The Enaran flag.

The Enarans are the natives of the planet Enara Prime in the Delta Quadrant. They are a warp capable species but have only relatively low level engines. The Enarans are very concerned with personal hygiene and invented radioseptics for hand washing and personal cleaning. In addition to Enara Prime, they maintain an outpost at the Fima Colony.

Physiology

Physically, the Enarans are humanoid with red spotting near the eyes and forehead. As a species they are telepathic, and are able to implant memories in another person whether they are willing or not. However, making telepathic contact with an unwilling person is deeply condemned.

History

In 2373, the USS Voyager became the first Federation ship to make contact with the Enarans. At that time, B'Elanna Torres experienced intense telepathic memories of an Enaran holocaust that had taken place several decades earlier. During this time a group who did not wish to use technology, called the Regressives, were wiped out by the Enaran authorities. The holocaust had since been hidden from later generations. Upon finding the memories to be genuine, B'Elanna passed them on to a young Enaran and, presumably, started the Enarans on a road to addressing their past.

In the mid 24th century, the Enarans utilized public executions to silence dissidents. The execution post would be placed in town centers and violators were tied to the center post. When activated the post and violator would be bathed in a purple glow. The process took only a few seconds, but caused extreme pain. The device left the corpses with very badly burnt skin.

An Enolian male

The Enolians are a humanoid species. By the mid-22nd century, they ran the Canamar prison. They were a significant interstellar power, operating hundreds of starships and several busy trading outposts. Their judicial system was not known for its fairness, however, and they arrested Jonathan Archer for smuggling.

A male Entharan

The Entharans are a warp capable species found in the Delta Quadrant.

Physically they are humanoids with a complex bone structure around the top of their noses.

They rely primarily on trade as a method of survival and put great emphasis on maintaining good relations with their buyers. Consequently, even an accusation of wrongdoing can end the career of an Entharan trader.

They were encountered in 2374 by the USS Voyager. The crew attempted to buy goods from Kovin, a weapons trader. Unfortunately, an accident during a demonstration led Seven of Nine to wrongfully accuse the trader of mistreating her. Sadly, Kovin was killed before the mistake could be rectified.

Goth, an Etanian male.

The Etanians are a humanoid, warp-capable race from the Delta Quadrant. Their government is known as the Etanian Order.

Aggressive and expansionist, the Etanians annex colony planets of other species by staging a "natural disaster", then claiming the planet once the population had been evacuated. In 2373, they sent numerous artificial asteroids to bombard a Nezu colony.

The manufactured nature of the asteroids was discovered by the USS Voyager crew, who were assisting the Nezu with the emergency. Voyager subsequently defeated an approaching Etanian starship, using tactical data collected by the Nezu Doctor Vatm.

The Excalbians are a silicon-based lifeform, native to the planet Excalbia.

In 2269, the Excalbians became intrigued by Human notions of good and evil. They staged a contest between the two ideas of thought, using Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701, and re-creations of notable galactic historical figures.

Representing "good", were Kirk, Spock, Abraham Lincoln of Earth and Surak of Vulcan; and representing "evil" were Kahless the Unforgettable of Qo'noS, Genghis Khan, Phillip Green of Earth and Dr. Zora of Tiburon. The contest ended in a stalemate.

Fantome

Fantome's species is a humanoid specie believed to be native to The Void anomaly.

Physiology

Fantome’s species possesses a unique and extremely complex physiology. They have a very large lung capacity, which allows them to survive in a low oxygen atmosphere for a certain period of time. They also have a voracious appetite; this is probably so they can eat as much as possible to build up reserves whenever they find food.

History

They were first encountered by the crew of the USS Voyager in 2377, living covertly on the ships that were trapped inside of the spatial anomaly called The Void. They were extremely shy of the Voyager crew but with a little coaxing seemed to do fine in interacting with others as soon as they were sure they wouldn't be harmed.

They didn't posses any verbal skills, but seemed to have a non-verbal language of their own. When The Doctor taught a member of the species, Fantome, to communicate using a system of musical notes, it was in turn capable of teaching this language to other members of its species in a fraction of the time it took to learn. Seven of Nine, who had first conceived of the idea to communicate with them in this fashion, noted that the language seemed to be developing its own grammar and syntax. This indicated that they did have their own language, and The Doctor theorized it might be telepathic. They seemed just as comfortable communicating with music after learning how.

They refused an offer by Voyager to be taken out of the Void, even though this would have given them a far easier life. They considered the anomaly their home and simply requested to be beamed to a random ship in the Void. They did however show the crew of Voyager their gratitude for being welcomed on board and being treated with kindness by aiding the ship and its small group of allied ships to escape the Void by sabotaging the engines of their opponents.

It is unknown what has become of them after Voyager left the Void.

Zahl ambassador aboard Voyager (2374).

In one possible timeline, the Zahl were a technologically advanced and generally benevolent humanoid species who, a generation prior to 2374, defeated the Krenim Imperium. The Zahl disbanded the Krenim fleet and retook the territories they had annexed. In 2374, two Zahl starships greeted the USS Voyager upon its arrival in their space. During the meeting, the entire Zahl civilization was erased from history by Annorax's weapon ship. The erasure of the Zahl achieved an unprecedented 98% Krenim restoration, although the Krenim colony on Kyana Prime was not restored.

It is unknown what became of the Zahl after the timeline was returned to normal
