Argelius II

Argelius II is the inhabited second planet in the Argelius system, located in the Beta Quadrant.
It is homeworld of the humanoid species known as the Argelians.

Ancient times on Argelius were described as violent. Many of the planet's original laws were described as "horrible" and "barbaric." (One law called for the execution of murderers through death by slow torture.)

In 2067, the Argelian society had what their people call the "Great Awakening." The people united under a planetary government, and created a legal system that was based on love instead of hate. Due to inefficiencies in their government, people from other planets were hired to fill certain administrative positions.

Argelius II then signed a treaty with the Federation, allowing Starfleet the use of their planet as a space port for space vehicles. They also allowed the crews from these ships to take shore leave on the planet.
