The Pakleds are a heavyset humanoid species, native to the Alpha Quadrant.
To the casual observer, the Pakleds appear to be intellectually challenged, especially in their verbal skills.
The Pakleds are driven by their unwillingness to wait to gain their own technological knowledge.
Therefore, they try to acquire technology from other species, generally by deceit and theft.
A largely nomadic culture, they travel between worlds in search of supplies and materials needed for their continued survival.
They are often referred to as "scavengers."
