Soran, also known as Lagard, is a single star within the Lagardios (Dragon) Sector, and within the Milky Way’s Alpha Quadrant.

The star is approximately 67.9 light years from Sol (Earth). Its average apparent magnitude, as viewed from Earth, is 6.3, and its absolute visual magnitude is 4.7, making it about 1 and 1/10ths brighter than Sol. The Soran star hosts an inhabited planetary system with no less than two planets. Soran II, also known as Lagard, the second planet within the planetary system, is the Lagardios homeworld. Its inhabitants are the origin of their sector’s common name, and are members of the United Federation of Planets.

Despite the Borg incursion into many worlds of the United Federation of Planets, circa Stardate 20211, by the end of the Borg Invasion, Stardate 20305.01, Soran II had escaped the devastation of mass assimilation.
