Personal History
Early Life
Jordan Alexander Donovan was born and raised on Earth in the small beach city of Santa Cruz, California. He was an only child, and something of a minor miracle to his parents. Due to their beliefs, they did not want to involve modern medicine in increasing their chances to conceive. Thus, after years of trying, they stopped when Jordan came along, feeling grateful for their blessing. Raised Catholic, Jordan was dutiful in his studies, but not as much with his own social development. It did not take much for Jordan to fell drawn to accept his Holy Orders, and went from his secondary schooling to the Seminary with the aim of becoming a priest.
The Priesthood
Jordan excelled in the Seminary, applying is scholastic talents full tilt, and found a profound sense of belonging and achievement there. He requested and received his first assignment after ordination to a small hamlet in the central american region of Costa Rica. After that, he left for the main cathedral on the Alpha Centauri capitol, where he studied under their Cardinal. It was at this point that he experienced the turning point in his ministry. He was faced with consoling many family members who lost love ones to conflicts while serving in Star Fleet. Helping the grieving and performing funeral rites quickly began to feel empty to Jordan. It only took a year for him to hang up his collar and gain entrance to Star Fleet Academy.
Metamorphosis - Star Fleet Academy
Having already proven his academic prowess in the seminary, Jordan found his previously developed skills useful when applied to his new exploits to excelling in the classroom at the Academy. He found himself somewhat of a loner though, never really bonding with any of his other classmates. Partially this was due to his slightly introverted personality, but it was also because of his older age and previous vocation. He did not let them faze him though. Actually, his biggest challenge as a Cadet was the physical requirement; it was nothing he was used to as a priest, and his advanced age put him at a disadvantage. Nonetheless, his academic prowess and sheer determination ensured he graduated in high standing, and with confidence to serve in his new role.
Universe Crossover - USS Avenger
As a newly minted security officer, Jordan was eager but nervous. On the one hand he looked forward to being able to actually help people by serving on the front lines, instead of just being a comfort to those who suffered from the loss on the home front. On the other hand, Jordan was extremely nervous. He had never been in combat in reality, and until joining Star Fleet, had never seriously contemplated killing another being. But that was all now part of his job description, which quickly became self-evident. During Jordan's time on the Avenger, he kept his head down and phaser hand steady, all the while taking careful inventory of the experiences and how they were affecting his mind and soul. He was not ineffective in his duties, but neither did he display any exceptional abilities. He progressed at an average rate, but made no significant career accelerating actions during his time. Once the Avenger crossed universes, Jordan felt there might be an opportunity for him. Forfeiting the immediate chance to remain with those from his Universe, he felt himself eager to accept and assimilate into this new universe. Overall things were much better for the Federation here, and Star Fleet was willing to accept him as one of theirs, even from another universe. When the Avenger docked, Jordan received a transfer order, awaiting to be assigned to another vessel in need of an experienced junior officer.
New Beginnings - USS Titan
Jordan quickly received orders to join the Security Department of the USS Titan as a Team leader, before they departed for their mission to the Gorn planet of HisssThess. He eagerly awaited his chance to start anew, all the while wondering how someone from another universe would adapt to this one.

Hobbies and Pastimes: Ocean Surfing, Whitewater Rafting, Fly-fishing, and cooking, and reading.

Long-Term Goals: Develop leadership skills. Prove to his superiors that he is worthy of promotion. Make friends.
Personality: Jordan is not an introvert, but he is far from being very outgoing. Usually one to listen rather than speak, Jordan still is able to form his own strong opinions. He's just not always very determined to share or voice them unless feeling compelled to due to the situation. When he is forced to interact with others, he commonly comes off as hostile, although he's usually just being straight forward or even defensive and shy.
Sense of Humor: Jordan is much better at laughing at jokes than telling them, so he usually refrains from doing so.

Likes: Discussing intellectual and philosophical topics with others, as well as other quiet and polite conversation. Reading The Bible.
Dislikes: Irreverent, disrespectful, and close minded people. Also those who take for granted what fortunes they have received in life.
Pet Peeves or Gripes: People who can’t sit still or fidget too much.
Bad Habits or Vices: Judging people too quickly, but also sometimes failing to see the worst parts of people.
Achievements: Being ordained as a priest. Graduating from Star Fleet Academy in the Security division, despite being significantly older than his peers in the more physically demanding of divisions.
Disappointments: Not feeling that his Holy Orders were what he was called to do with his life.
Illnesses: Seasonal allergies in wooded areas when not treated.
Strengths: Strength of conviction and ability to devote himself to a cause or objective.
Weaknesses: Jordan is not very good in social situations, and is prone to being somewhat awkwardly quiet and un-talkative.
Fears: Dying from suffocation. Being embarrassed in front of large groups.
Prejudices: Anyone with values in direct conflict with his own. Jordan doesn't
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Plain and simple. Usually just work boots and jeans or other long pants, with a simple shirt or coat.
Distinguishing Features: Jordan has a tattoo on each shoulder blade. On the right he has a Celtic Cross, and on the left he has the Donovan Family Coat of Arms crest, featuring a helmet with an elaborate red and white plume, atop a shield featuring a mans arm holding a sword, with a serpent coiled around the blade. On his chest over his heart, in black calligraphy script, he has the citation "John 15:13" in 1-inch lettering.
Pets: 1 year old black American Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bull) mutt mix named Sybil
Personal Paradigm Shifts
Most Painful Experience: As a young priest, Jordan reached the point in his ministry where he felt incomplete simply consoling the bereved in thier losses in wars the Federation, in the Alternate Universe, suffered in. He felt like a spectator. His choice to become a security officer was an attempt at solving this problem.
Best Time: Graduation from Star Fleet Academy
Most Crucial Experience: Donovan’s decision-making process he undertook to leave the priesthood and join Star Fleet.
Role Model: Thomas Jefferson, of old Earth history.
