Personal History

Jebediah (known as Jeb) was born on a large ranch just outside of the town of 'Big Lake' which is the county seat of Reagan County west Texas. His mother Jessica was a single mother working as a cowgirl on the ranch and Jeb lived the rural lifestyle. Possibly because of his lack of a positive father figure, but probably because he had far too many of them, Jeb grew up to be a hell raiser. His decision to sit the entrance examinations to join Star Fleet, and his acceptance at the Academy at the age of 18 was therefore a surprise to those who knew him best.

The truth was that Jeb had long harboured an ambition to become a fighter pilot for Star Fleet and leave the prosaic rural life far behind him.

Jeb excelled in his first year at the Academy, graduating from Boot Camp with flying colours and achieving the highly sought after honour of a place at the Fighter Pilot School. Here however his career began to come unstuck, although he was without a doubt one of the best fighter pilots in that year’s intake, his undisciplined ways led to his expulsion a month before graduation.

Jeb was then transferred to Pilot Officer School and completed his final year of the Academy before graduating. At this point his bad reputation prevented him from from finding a piloting position until he was accepted by a fellow Texan, and (at that time) second in command of the 12th Marine Medical Evacuation Battalion, 1Lt William Lee-Hardy.

William became the father figure that Jeb had never had and under his patronage Jeb proved to be a brave and courageous Med Evac pilot. The hard flying, hard playing pilots suited him very well. Here, unlike the rest of Star Fleet, his vices did not stand out. He progressed in that environment rising to Marine First Lieutenant and second in command of the regiment within nine years, two years after his friend Will made Major.

Jeb's Career continued for a further four years until his friend was killed in action. Jeb began a slow downward spiral as a result of his friend’s death. As a result Star Fleet and the Marine Corps began to lose confidence in him, and eventually after one scandal too many he was deemed unsuitable for his current role and demoted.

This did not prevent Jeb from continuing to fly the missions he loved, other than William the most positive thing in his life was his flying and the opportunity that gave him to save lives. Although this did not change, Jeb became depressed, a condition quite alien to his personality. In order that he could continue to fly, Jeb began to take a street drug known as Jet, which was a cocktail of several stimulants and highly illegal. Eventually as a result of this Jeb was forced to resign his position two years later or face a dishonourable discharge and loose his pilot’s license.

Jeb spent the next eleven years flying commercially. Because of his history, he was unable to gain reputable employment and was forced to pilot for many disreputable and often criminal organisations. His once bright career in ruins, Jeb had become ever more dependent upon his vices.
