Personal History

Her parents were killed when she was 13, the family were enjoying a recreational activity in a public holosuite, when a computer malfunction disabled the safety protocols – both parents were mortally injured when they were attacked by a wild Klingon targ, James fought the animal off but died of his wounds in the holosuite. Jay used her father’s hunting knife to kill the beast, but not before being caught with a glancing blow to the left forehead – she decided to keep the scar to remind her what she had overcome.

Throughout her Star Fleet training she has displayed a willingness to resolve conflicts, whether it be between individuals in the cafeteria, or fractious species in the debating theater.

Jay’s interests are varied; she has a keen interest in Earth history, ranging from ancient Greco-Roman civilization to the Industrial Revolution, American war of Independence to man’s first steps into space.

A love of music hides the disappointment at not really being particularly competent with any particular instrument, although she has a strong singing voice she is really confident enough to perform publicly.

Jay’s sense of humour has often been singled out as a major factor in her popularity with others.
