Personal History

Ael was born into the Ruc house, just outside the city Saijja in their family home on the planet Ysail. At the time the Ruc house was growing in respect and stature. Although not seen as one of the major houses on the planet, it was wealthy and had many strong figures climbing the ranks. One of those figures was Ael's mother, Kul. She was a prominent member of the Tal'Shial on the planet, and held the rank of Enarrain, along with a fair bit of influence. Ael's father, H'Daen was a Arrain on a Sei'aen class light cruiser and spent much of Ael's young life off planet.

From the age of two, Ael was pushed to learn different languages. Ael had the advantage of not having the forehead ridges of a Romulan and as such, her mother knew she could make a good spy and strengthen their houses' standing. Kul's parenting style was a strict, military type approach and Ael suffered many a beating by her. Ael loved both her parents greatly, even if she did not see them as much as she would have liked to.

When her father was off world and her mother was on assignment, Ael was cared for by her uncle, Dag. He was the total opposite to his sister, Ael's mom. He was a scholar, painter and a believer that words could accomplish much more than the sword. He tried his best to guide the young Ael in his ways, but appeared he was losing the battle.

This became more evident with every year which pasted. When Ael was ten, he found her, holding another child's head under water for the location of her doll he had hid away. This scared Dag deeply because he could see his sister in her.

Ael lost her mother the following year at the age of eleven, when the office she was working from was hit by a terrorist attack, killing six Tal'Shial members. The attack was said to be a revenge attack for some missing Klingons which had made a home in the area. From that day, Ael grew a hatred for the Klingons. With the death of his sister, Dag begged H'Daen to leave the planet and get his daughter away from the madness. There were already whispers to start training the young Ael.

H'Daen did not think much of it, until he went to pick her up at her school, a year later whilst on shore leave. He had arrived early and was waiting outside, when he heard their instructor speaking of effective killing distances of certain weapons. H'Daen was shocked and wanted to get hid daughter away as fast as possible. He spoke to the elders of his house about his plan to retire from the service and tour the universe. They were fine with his plan, but he has not to take Ael with.

H'Daen was fortunate enough to have the resources to bribe an elder, into informing the others that Ael would make a good sleeper spy and that she needed to get placed early to avoid suspicion. In his earlier travels, H'Daen had met a number of Starfleet officers and heard stories about the Sol system and decided that would be his destination. On landing on Earth, H'Daen looked up a retired Starfleet officer he had met years before. They decided to buy a farm in the Southern part of Africa together.

The retired officer Hendry van Wyk and H'Daen bought the farm together and started working the lands. Hendry was also a single father, with a daughter a year older than Ael. They became best of friends, always together and always outside. The farm life seemed to calm Ael. She continued studying languages, but lost interest in the spy world. As the farm grew, Hendry and H'Daen bought the neighboring farm too. Hendry decided to farm cattle on the neighboring farm, while H'Daen decided to start his own Stud farm on their original grounds.

Ael loved the horses and used her time breaking in the new horses and teaching others to ride. Her life was going well, until she heard her friend, Lora was getting bored of farm life and her dad had got her into Starfleet. This scared Ael, she knew what evils the universe held. She apply the following year, to keep an eye on her friend.
