Raikan

Raikan is a single star within the Milky Way’s Beta Quadrant.

The star is approximately 78.8 light years from Sol (Earth). Its average apparent magnitude, as viewed from Earth, is 9.0, and its absolute visual magnitude is 7.1, making it only about 13/100ths as bright as Sol. It is a blue subdwarf with a stellar classification of A1 and an average temperature of about 7,875 degrees Kelvin. (See also the Astronomical Terms Database.)

The star hosts an inhabited planetary system. Raikan II’s inhabitants are members of the Dhar’hyyk Republic, the founders of which were actually Humans originating from Earth. Stardate 14008.03, the Federation and Dhar’hyyk began first contact, or, rather, renewed contact.
