1789 - Astronomer William Cranch Bond is born. Along with his son, he discovered "Hyperion," the eighth moon of Saturn, as well as an inner ring called Ring C, or the "Crepe Ring."
1892 – Amalthea, third closest and fifth found moon of Jupiter, is discovered by Edward Emerson Barnard.
1940 – George Stibitz pioneers the first remote operation of a computer.
1947 – A "computer bug" is first identified and named, found in the "Mark II Aiken Relay Calculator" at Harvard University.
1954 – Actor Jeffrey Combs (Brunt, FCA / Weyoun / Shran ) is born.
