Kappa Ophiuchii is a single star within the Milky Way’s Alpha Quadrant.

The star is approximately 91.5 light years from Sol (Earth). Its average apparent magnitude, as viewed from Earth, is 3.2, and its absolute visual magnitude is 1.0, making it about 35 times brighter than Sol. It is an orange subgiant with a stellar classification of K2 and an average temperature of about 4,075 degrees Kelvin. (See also the Astronomical Terms Database.)
