Personal History
Fred was born in Tycho City on Luna and raised there by his parents until the age of 18, when he decided to follow in the footsteps of his Uncle, George Farrow, and enter Star Fleet Academy as an Engineering NCO. Farrow had been a Chief Petty Officer when he had eventually retired from Star Fleet, and his had been a distinguished career, having first seen action in the later days of the Federation-Dominion conflict and serving on various starships during the First General War and the conflict against the Borg.
Greatly influenced by Farrow and his stories of life onboard a Federation starship and his adventures, Fred applied for Star Fleet Academy and was accepted after a grueling entrance exam. After four long years at the Academy Fred graduated at the top of his class, and was immediately accepted as a Crewman onboard the USS Lexington, where he began his long rise up the non-commissioned ranks. He soon earnt a reputation onboard the ships he served, as put by Captain Selby of the Lexington, as ‘…A man who can get things done, no questions asked or indeed answers given.’ Fred found that he had a natural knack for manipulating what the Ferengi called ‘The Great Material River’, trading and swapping items to get what his current starship needed. He was credited with keeping the USS Sao Paulo in service for six months longer than it could have been during the first Romulan conflict due to his abilities, which allowed the Sao Paulo to serve in several crucial actions in the later stages of the conflict.
At the end of the conflict Fred had risen to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, and was a widely respected Non-Commissioned Officer, a great loss to his last CO onboard the USS Tripoli. Approached by Star Fleet Intelligence, Fred accepted the position onboard the Apparition, seeing it as a fitting next step in his career before his retirement.
