Dorala

Dorala is a single star that hosts a planetary system within the Brikar Frontier Sector, and within the Milky Way’s Beta Quadrant. The Dorala star hosts an inhabited planetary system. Most of its inhabitants are members of the United Federation of Planets, but some of its inhabitants are members of the Klingon Empire.

Circa Stardate 17400, during the Dominion War, General Martok, of the Klingon Empire, assured Captain Benjamin Sisko, of Deep Space 9, that his forces would defend the Dorala system on behalf of the Alliance until Star Fleet forces could reinforce the Klingon defense.

Star Make-up

It is approximately 142.3 light years from Sol (Earth). Its average apparent magnitude, as viewed from Earth, is 7.2, and its absolute visual magnitude is 4.0, making it about 2 and 1/10ths brighter than Sol. It is a white main sequence “dwarf” with a stellar classification of F9 and an average temperature of about 7,425 degrees Kelvin. (See also the Astronomical Terms Database.)
