A male Xindi-Arboreal

Xindi-Arboreals are easily identifiable by being covered with hair.
They also have long, sharp fingernails, dark eyes, and a ridge running from their noses to the back of their heads.

This Xindi species in general has a dislike / fear of large amounts of water.
Considered to be lethargic by the other Xindi species, they are known for being extremely calm, even when taken hostage.

Dr. Phlox of the Enterprise theorized that this Xindi species had evolved from a type of sloth.

By 2153, Arboreals lived on Azati Prime, a world whose population of Arboreals and Primates numbered over 1000.

Language: The Primates, Arboreals, and Reptilians all speak a common language that is recognized by Earth Star Fleet universal translators.
The Insectoids and Aquatics have the ability to understand this language, but it appears they are physically incapable of speaking it.

Compared to some of the other Xindi species, Arboreals were intelligent enough to work at manufacturing kemocite.

  • Kemocite: a mineral that was a multiphasic isotope of a radiolytic compound. It has many applications, depending on its level of refinement.

Arboreals wear belts that indicate their rank and position.

  • Example: Arboreal representatives to the Xindi Council wore five belts; Arboreals assigned to a kemocite refinery wore three belts

The Arboreals utilize a diversity of spacecraft. Arboreal ships also include a small vessel that carried additional fuel, supplies, and storage for an extended database.
