Tagor Class Base Facility
Tagor Class Base Facilities are the largest design of hdrael, or starbase, used by the Romulan Star Empire. They are placed strategically throughout Imperial space and serve not only as ports of call for military vessels but also operate as civilian stations of transit. With exception of Hdrael 12, each Tagor Class hdrael contains administrative offices for the Imperial Fleet and an extensive repair yard. Hdrael 12 serves as headquarters for the Tal'Shiar.
Civilian residency is allowed on Tagor Class facilities. Civilians operate much of the retail and entertainment establishments as well as work in the ship repair yards and in maintenance of each facility's infrastructure.
Each Tagor Class hdrael is self-sufficient and operates independently from any planetary government. They fall under the administration of Central Command and on occasion the Tal'Shiar. Tagor Class facilities have extensive weaponry and shielding as well as impulse engines, for short distance repositioning, and the ability to use warp engines for longer distance travel if necessary.
