Remus (ch'Havran)
The Surface of Remus

The third planet of the Eisn system, Remus, or ch'Havran in the Rihan language, was one of the principal worlds of the Romulan Star Empire until it was devastated by the shockwave or a nearby supernova in 2411. It is a rich source of dilithium.

Remus is tidally locked, meaning that one side of its surface is always facing Eisn. This resulted in a temperature too extreme for habitation on the day side. The native species of the planet, the Remans, or Havrannsu, evolved to live on the much more tolerable night side.

Romulans began to settle on Remus in the Earth year 1062, establishing mining settlements and building cities in the planet's eternal twilight zone. At first, they lived peacefully with the Remans, but they quickly came to regard them as warlike and barbaric. After several uprisings and the additional fear of the Reman's telepathic abilities, Romulan law was militarily imposed, and Reman society was reorganized to serve the Romulan people.

The Empire's principal shipyards were located in orbit around Remus. Theijhoi was a large city located on the surface.

Romulus and Remus are often referred to as twin planets, but in reality they both orbit Eisn independently.
