Starbase 157 is a Federation outpost administrated by Starfleet in the Beta Quadrant.
In 2366, this base picked up the final distress call from the transport ship USS Lalo.
The Lalo had reported encountering an unknown, cube-shaped vessel, which was later encountered and identified by the USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-D as a Borg ship.
