Personal History

Alex was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father was a Petty Officer with Starfleet, while his mother was a teacher in one of the secondary schools. Alex was the second child, being four years younger than his older brother.

His first few years he spent on our blue ball are not of much significance: Alex was an ordinary child of average size and weight. He started to begin trying to walk at about nine months, and a few weeks after his birthday he said his first words. At the age of three, a little brother was born. At this time, his mother stopped working to take care of the children.

In high school, sport played a big role in Alex’ life. He was a Running back in the football team, and played Cricket in the local club as well. His grades were on the high side as well, due to his parents constantly pushing for more. Because of this, Alex didn’t have much of a social life. Sure, he had friends and went out and partied, but much less than most of his classmates.

After he graduated high school, Alex applied to the Marine Corps Academy, and was accepted. While many of his family members had joined Starfleet, Alex decided to follow his older brother. Life in the academy was not something he wasn’t used to. He was, after all, raised in a military environment. While Alex brushed through the physical part of his education, some of the academics were a little hard. Nonetheless, after 4 years of hard work, he graduated, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.

The young Lieutenant soon found himself in command of a platoon of 39 other Marines. His Company was deployed to the Romulan front. For his actions, he was commended several times before the war’s end, and was promoted to First Lieutenant too.

After the end of the war, they returned to Earth, and had a relative calm. They were then posted on the Romulan border again, as the Quick Reaction Force in case of an emergency arose. By 2409, Alex was a Captain, and commanded the Company his old platoon was part of. Tensions rose, and the Romulans attacked the Federation again. Hostilities soon ended, though, without them seeing much action.

Finally, little more than a year ago, Alex and the company were investigating an incident, and this resulted in the loss of almost the entire Company. Alex would never see a command in the Marines again, but because of his distinguished service record, he was offered a commission as a Security Ensign in Starfleet. Alex accepted, and after receiving some training, he was posted aboard the Dauntless.

During all that time, Alex met a beautiful Trill woman, with whom he had 2 girls and a boy. Currently, they are to engaged to be wed.
