Kaus Borealis, also known as Lambda Sagittarii, is a single star within the Patriarchy Sector, and within the Milky Way’s Alpha Quadrant.
The star is approximately 78.2 light years from Sol (Earth). Its average apparent magnitude, as viewed from Earth, is 2.8, and its absolute visual magnitude is 0.9, making it about 37 times brighter than Sol.
