1801 - Astronomer and mathematician Sir George Biddell Airy is born. During his life, he computed the density of the Earth, determined the mass of the planet Jupiter and its period rotation, calculated the orbits of comets, cataloged stars, and designed corrective lenses for the vision issue of astigmatism.
