The Galae s'Shiar, or Imperial Romulan Fleet, is the naval military force of the Romulan Star Empire. It falls under the authority of Central Command, one of the three branches of the Romulan military, whose current chairman is Enriov Eriufv Khaethaetreh. The Galae s'Shiar is ultimately under the direct command of the Praetor however and is headquartered on Romulus.

The Imperial Fleet's areas of responsibility include patrolling the borders of the Empire, serving as the first line of defense against attack from outsiders and leading the charge when offensive action is required. The Galae also acts as a police force for internal matters, having taken over many of the duties once held by the Tal'Shiar, which currently operates independently of the government.

Current Operations

The Imperial Fleet is currently tasked with aiding efforts to evacuate Romulus and Remus in advance of a supernova blast wave that will destroy all life on those planets. The Galae is working jointly with Star Fleet to help ensure that the evacuations proceed without interruption and that the security of the Empire is maintained.

The fleet is also engaged in counter-terrorism and counter-telepathic operations against renegade vessels and officers supportive of former Chairman Vaelrith Tei.
