Personal History

Domaere was born to a family of minor nobility, who worked in the legal profession in a small village on Romulus. She showed little interest in the legal trade, instead finding an interest in biology. Her experiments as a child, often became cruel, as she showed no empathy towards creatures other than the sentient. Her parents, often too busy to keep tract of her, left her mostly to her own devices, and she was often absent from school to wander through nearby vacant properties where she took exhaustive notes and illustrations of the native wildlife and flora.

When she was at home, Domaera entertained herself with martial arts holo-novels and the dream of some day becoming a great warrior. She often indulged in fantasies of blades, feats of cunning, and personal glory. Most of the children in the village didn't understand her preoccupations, and she often found herself ridiculed and alone.

When Domaere was 12 the family moved to the capitol after her father received a job offer of great significance. Suddenly Domaere was deprived of her carefree days out in nature, and found herself in the big city, and under many watchful eyes. School now being mandatory for her, Domaere was reluctant and defiant until she met Shrin, a girl of her age who shared her interest in the martial arts holo-novels. After school they spent most of their afternoons together, practicing martial arts, talking about the latest holo-novels, and giggling over boys. Having a friend made all the difference to Domaere. She was attending school regularly and excelling in her classes under the influence of Shrin, who took her studies very seriously.

As Domaere grew towards adult-hood, her interest in sciences became accute. She always wanted to know "why" and "how". The dream of being a warrior was now a pleasant fantasy for her, although Shrin took it very seriously. After graduation Shrin went on to the Imperial Academy and later became Chief of Security on the RIS Eth. Domaere continued in academics, and went on to university science programs. The separation broke the girl's hearts, but neither was willing to give up the lives they had chosen.

At university, Domaere met J'llon a young man studying neurology. They married, and both found themselves interested in the other's work. Both took instructional and research positions at university after they had attained their highest levels, and purchased a small home near the campus. J'llon began to leave home for periods of time... those periods lengthening as time wore on. At first Domaere thought he might be having an affair, but J'llon confessed he was doing a great deal of work for the military developing new interrogation techniques. Once again Domaere found herself interested in J'llon's work, and she suggested using more social-psychological incentives similar to those deployed by the Cardassians than relying on pure neurological discomfort.

The times at the university were the happiest times of her life. She was able to indulge her taste for the finer things: good wines, opera from a hundred different worlds, and fine art. Although she wasn't nearly rich enough to afford most of those things for herself, she moved in circles which allowed her to indulge often. She filled up the empty space when J'llon was away with little luxuries.

While J'llon continued to be called for, Domaere continued her work, now receiving a grant from the university. After a while, she became concerned when J'llon was absent for longer than usual. Her work was then funded by the military, and she was given a Praetor Colius Award on completion of her research. J'llon had now been gone about three years... and while the military continued to tell her he was safe and coming home soon, she began to worry.

J'llon was, in fact, being held in a Klingon prison. His body was returned to her shortly after receipt of her award.

Angry and disillusioned, Domaere quit her jobs at the university and retreated into her small home. She had been in mourning for about 7 months when Shrin came home on leave. The two women met, and Shrin, who was living the life of her holo-novel heros in the Galae s'Shiar, encouraged Domaere to go to the academy, despite her age, and become a warrior as well. When Shrin left to rejoin the RIS Eth, she left Domaere with a new hope and new direction for her life.

Domaere dove into her studies at the academy with gusto, taking a wide variety of science courses, all which she felt in some way enhanced her understanding of sociology and the social history of other races, including biology, botany, and geology. In order to understand a person, she reasoned, you must understand their planet.

Thanks in part to Shrin recommending her to the captain of the Erth, in part to her grades and instructors' recommendations, Domaere was assigned to the Erth and served for 7 years in the science department, attaining the position of Daise'vriafwen'saehne (Chief Science Officer) and the rank of Arrain.

Domaere was serving on the RIS Erth when it was attacked and destroyed by a Lloannen'galae ship. Shrin was killed, and Domaere was beamed aboard a scout ship just before the ship's destruction.

Deceased 20810.17.
