Angel I

Angel I is an inhabited planet located near the Neutral Zone.

An M-class planet inhabited by humanoid life, this planet was of strategic importance to the Federation.

As of 2364, the society was matriarchal, with males treated as second-class citizens.

The planet supported carbon-based flora and fauna and was sparsely populated with intelligent life.

Historical Significance:

In 2357, a Federation freighter crashed near this planet. With the survivors being male, they spoke out against the planet's society and discriminations, but were ostracized and went in hiding. When the Enterprise was sent to investigate the freighter's disappearance seven years later, the survivors were found and the crew attempted a recovery.
However, the government wanted to execute the survivors, and the survivors want to continue living on the planet.

The Enterprise's first officer then convinced the head of state that executing these men would turn them into martyrs, and they were exiled instead.
