Located in the Beta Quadrant, this is a binary star system, consisting of two B-class stars.

This particular planet is aligned directly between Earth and Argelius II. During the 22nd century, an Earth colony was founded.

Alpha Proxima II was one of the first extra-solar Human colonies, with major industries in mining, farming, and sea-farming.
By the 23rd century, the planet had a total population of 12 million with more than 3 million living in the port city Heliopolis.

In 2156, the Redjac entity was responsible for ten women being knifed to death in the settlement of Heliopolis.
