- The Setlik III massacre takes place, in which Cardassian forces raid the Federation colony.
The USS Rutledge responds to the colony's distress calls. Miles O'Brien was instrumental in saving the last surviving colonists of Setlik III.
He led a group of two dozen men against a Cardassian regiment, and was later hailed as "the hero of Setlik III."
- Ro Laren is forced to watch her father be tortured to death during a Cardassian interrogation.
- Stardate 32611.4: The Hansen family depart the Drexler outpost aboard their ship, the USS Raven, on a mission to study the Borg. They do not file a flight plan, and no further contact with the Raven is made after their departure.
