Starbase 53 is a Federation starbase during the late-24th century, located on the border of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.
Located in the Largo star system, this starbase is slightly more military in nature than other starbases.
- In 2374, a Section 31 operative threatened to bring Dr. Julian Bashir to this base further interrogation.
- In a 2400 incident, Captain Benjamin Sisko and the USS Defiant crew were brought to this base after travelling to 2400 from 2374.
