Personal History

Mitchell grew up in Flint, Michigan, near Detroit. He always felt at home there, even though it did not offer too much. He had a loving family, Norma, his Mom and Federick, his Father. He was an only child. His mother died at a young age and since his father was in the Army, Mitchell grew up wanting to serve his country. His Dad was tough on him, but Mitchell always knew the rules and followed them. Mitchell had a few acquaintances as friends growing up, but no really close friends, just other kids around the neighbour hood. His father was always supportive of his dreams, but challenged him in ways to help him improve, like any parent should. He signed up for the Marines and became an enlisted officer after high school. He had many friends. Mitchell always was fascinated by different species and different ways of life. Medicine was a way for all of his interests to manifest and he became a field medic.

He was stationed on Sierra 18 during the Krynar war where he saw many things happen and many people die. He tried not to let this haunt him, but Himself and Jimmy were taken as prisoners of war aboard Sierra 18. Jimmy and Mitchell kept each other together and became best friends. He suffered from nightmares and flashbacks from the fray of the war and his experience being taken prisoner. He saw how loyal and determined Star Fleet officers were and he decided to join the academy.

Mitchell found himself being an older officer in the academy as both a challenge and a blessing. Most of the rules and regulations he was used to following from his time in the Marines. That was the easy part. He found he had little patience when dealing with people who were younger than him and thinking they knew everything. Mitchell felt that bragging and showing off only made that person look stupid. Mitchell valued when the younger officers asked for his opinion and he would happily share his stories to those who would listen.
