Personal History
Owen Ross was born in San Francisco, Earth on December 12th to Anna and Nathan Ross. Because Nathan was a young marine officer, Owen and his family were constantly on the move from base to base. As such, he didn’t make very many close friends. However, he met Sean Wenton when his father was assigned to Gibraltar Point, Mars before the outbreak of the Federation/Dominion War. Sean’s mother was assigned to the marine base and was about the same age as Owen. The pair immediately became friends.
Owen’s life reached a major turning point in early 2375, when his father was killed in action during a battle in the Federation/Dominion War. Owen, who was 18 at the time and unsure of what direction his life was taking, finally decided that he wanted to join the Marine Corps. His mother tried to persuade him against the move, but the enlistment of his friend Sean Wenton only reinforced his decision. In late 2375, right after the end of the Federation/Dominion War, Ross was accepted into the Marine Corps Academy on Mars.
Ross graduated from Officer Candidate School just as the First Federation/Romulan War came to an end. Having been interested in aviation since his childhood, Owen applied for the Marine Corps Aviation School. Second Lieutenant Owen Ross was accepted into Preliminary Flight School Training where he excelled at combat operations. He was quickly promoted to first lieutenant and assigned to his Primary Flight Training School. After qualifying in the Federation attack fighter, Owen was assigned to the Advanced Flight Training School on Jupiter.
After completing his Advanced Flight Training, Owen was assigned to a fighter squadron aboard an Akira class light carrier. He served as a fighter pilot on several of these vessels, moving up the ranks from First Lieutenant to Major, until 2393 when the Federation was again thrust into war. At the beginning of the First General War, Owen was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and assigned as CAG of all the fighter squadrons aboard the Akira class USS Leyte Gulf, NCC-71427.
After the First General War, Owen served for two more years and retired from Star Fleet in 2399 after 20 years of service in the Marine Corps. Nine years later, at the outbreak of the Second Federation/Romulan War, Owen volunteered to return to active duty. He was reinstated as a Lieutenant Colonel and served as the CAG for two starships before becoming the CAG of the recently commissioned USS Lejeune, HMAS-01. He is recently flight qualified in the Federation A-1 attack fighter.
