Personal History

Hob was born on Earth, and spent his early life as any other citizen of the Federation.

He first studied at Cambridge before he decided slightly later than most people his age on a career in Starfleet.

At the Academy, he excelled at this chosen field of medicine. It was during this time that he met his future wife to be, though he didn’t know it at the time. Her name was Zelda. She had enrolled five years before him, and unfortunately, they lost contact soon after she graduated.

His first assignment after graduation was aboard the USS Cole one of the last of the Olympic class medical frigates under the auspices of Dr Henglaar.

Henglaar taught him more than just medicine, and with this life coaching, Hob’s career went from strength to strength.

It wasn’t until his third posting aboard the USS Morpheus that he reencountered his love to be from the Academy. The rapport between them instantly picked up almost where it had previously finished, and they were married within the year.

Then as with all things, tragedy struck. A transporter malfunction caused by a faulty bio-neural gel pack resulted in the accidental death of Zelda.

Hob was beside himself, and took time out to wonder the Federation while he decided what to do now. It was almost two years before he petitioned to return to Starfleet service.

While assigned to the Starship Costeau, he prevented the spread of a strain of the Tareillian plague from destroying a pre-warp society by infusing the entire planets oceans with the anti-viral form of the disease.

Over the course of his career, Hob had served on Starships and Starbases, and performed most procedures from applying a band-aid through to Brain Surgery. Secretly, some people thought it was his goal to serve aboard every single major class of vessel in the Starfleet.

In reality, Hob is really a wondering soul. Looking to find the place he will finally fit in to. Somewhere quiet and comfortable with a willing crew and a personable commanding officer that’ll let him practice medicine and while away the long evenings with a glass of Merlot and a fine Andorian Cigar.
