Regenerative shield

Regenerative shielding is an advanced form of deflector shielding technology used in the 24th century by certain cultures in the Delta Quadrant.

The technology was later developed by Starfleet, after interacting with the technology.

In 2371, when the USS Voyager was engaged in combat with two Numiri patrol vessels, they were exposed to and battled against this technology.

By tricking the vessels into close combat, the Starfleet vessel was able to fire on the enemy vessels' navigational deflectors, disabling the regenerative shield.

In 2374, the experimental Starfleet ship USS Prometheus was built with regenerative shielding, along with other experimental technology such as ablative hull armor, and multi-vector assault modes.
