USS Prometheus, NX-59650

The USS Prometheus (NX-59650/NX-74913) was the prototype of the Prometheus Class, a long-range starship designed for tactical purposes.
It was equipped with a multi-vector assault mode, regenerative shields, and ablative armor. The vessel was also equipped with holographic projectors on every deck, allowing its EMH Mark II free range of movement.

The Prometheus was the fastest ship in Star Fleet when it was launched in late-2373.

A year after its launch, the Prometheus was hijacked by Romulans.

• During the Romulans' escape aboard the ship, the Prometheus easily disabled another Federation starship when the Romulans decided to enable the multi-vector assault mode.
• Despite the Romulans being the ones to use the new attack mode, Prometheus did prove herself to Starfleet, once recovered.
