1903 – Ernest Walton, Irish physicist, is born.
- He, alongside John Cockcroft, won the Nobel Prize in 1951 for splitting the atom.
1995 – Star "51 Pegasi" is discovered by Humans to be the first major star, apart from their Sun, to have a planet (and extrasolar planet) orbiting around it.
