Personal History

Barry Nero... Barry Nero. The child none wanted to play with. The child that always was interested in everything none were interested in, at least – at a young age. “Mom, what is death? Dad, if I kill my hamster, why is it bad? Teacher … what 'is' morale, and why are you a teacher? Officer, how exactly is that wrong ...”

The negativity that hailed from his younger years soon became a warning sign. A warning sign that through this behavior he would not be able to get what he wanted; freedom. Not the freedom to go where he wanted, but the freedom to do what he wanted...

Barry Nero on multiple occasions tried to enroll into the academy but failed miserably and for one simple reason; his utter and complete lack of emotions. It was not like a Vulcan – no, it was not logic, it was him being simply avoid of humanity, of xenomanity for lack of a better word –, there was nothing there. Only the will to erase every possible boundary conceivable. And why? Well, simple; result had to be manifested, and how this was achieved was irrelevant.

Shhhhh ...

Yet – intelligence came with planning ahead, and Barry soon learned that he could act a role to get what he wanted: a ticket into the stars. Barry Nero – once he put on his mask – was an extraordinary medical doctor. He was able to diagnose, examen and study every medical or scientific related project he could get his hands on.

You will always be ours....

Eventually, he had learned how to act emotions. Now – one might say that one could not fool the academies board, yet, Barry could. Finally, green light was given and he was allowed to enter the academy.

Because we've not designed you without purpose...

He aced his classes and soon found himself a midshipman. His time at the academy to him was an irrelevant blur.

You've a role to fulfill and after that ...

The same day he was placed on his first starship, he performed admirably. He grew in rank and soon found himself to be a lieutenant.

He would have never reached the rank of lieutenant, would it not be by careful monitoring. He would fulfill his purpose soon enough.

He was a typical being – a breed of humanity that could either be used for very specific roles, or simply had to be disposed as soon as possible. Lucky for him – a specific role was needed.
