Personal History

===EARLY LIFE===

Moneygurney Farm

Jonathan was born and raised in Moneygurney, Ireland with his non-identical twin brother Anthony Moriarty. Their parents, James and Dana were killed in action aboard the USS Prometheus when the twins were just five years old – forcing them to live with their adoptive mother Marie Fulton and her son, Benjamin on their farm.

Along with Anthony and Benjamin, Jonathan spent many of his childhood days outdoors exploring the fields around the farm and mainly getting into trouble. Being educated from home meant that the boys were seldom introduced to others their own age which helped to strengthen the bond between the three of them but had a major impact on their skills in socialising.

For the Moriarty twins’ 14th birthday, Marie took them across to the Winter Wonderland Experience in Dublin that fascinated Jonathan so much that he wanted to “stay forever and ever”. It was shortly after this trip that Jonathan ran from the farm in search of the big, brave world that he nothing about.

The Homeless Teenager

Little is known of Jonathan’s life after running away, only that he changed his name to Paul May at some point to avoid being found and having his ‘great outdoor adventure’ halted. It is likely that he developed his first aid skills and knowledge of the Medical Sciences during this time – presumably from various homeless camps he had encountered in his travels as a basic survival necessity.

Going by his Star Fleet records, sometime before his 17th birthday, he had made it to San Francisco and was involved in an accident that left him in a comatose state. Upon regaining consciousness, Jonathan found that he could not remember a large percentage of his life and could only recall a few memories of his past – the more recent being the more prominent. Doctors diagnosed his condition as Isolated Retrograde Amnesia after enduring severe trauma to areas of the brain that assist the recollection of memories.

Joining the Academy

A few months after being released from the hospital, Jonathan started researching retrograde amnesia in an attempt to find out how he could reclaim his lost memories. When he got the chance, he joined the Star Fleet Academy which helped him gain access to countless cases and articles on amnesia within the Star Fleet Libraries – especially while he majored in Medical Science.

For ten years, Jonathan continued studying before finally graduating. His first assignment was on Star Base Bravo as a Junior Medical Officer – it was here that Jonathan was reunited with his twin brother, Anthony Moriarty (although he was unaware of the relationship at first). Anthony’s eagerness and determination to discover the truth of Jonathan’s identity led them to carry out a DNA test which came back as a positive match.

Since their reunion, Anthony has made continuous efforts to remind Jonathan of their childhood lives together and slowly, but surely, Jonathan has been able to recall some of the memories himself. Aside from his brother, Jonathan is mostly found hanging around with his fellow Medical friend, Rhian Pollard who was lucky enough to study at the Academy, graduate alongside and work with Jonathan throughout their Star Fleet career so far. Often seen by Jonathan as his “record keeper” or more jokingly as his “personal stalker”.

Jonathan was listed as Killed in Action on Ryla in the year 2416.
