Personal History
Taryn was born in South West Britain, an Island on the Northern Continent on Earth of Scandinavian (Danish) parentage.
Her parents were posted on various commissions throughout Deep Space and her early, formative years were spent travelling with them and her two siblings.
Taryn and her brother were trained by Gunner Randar in survival skills, basic combat/weapons and most outdoor pursuits which helped her develop an interest in joining Star Fleet. At that time she was certain she wanted to follow her father into active service until a chance incident swayed her from her chosen career. She saved her younger sisters life in a near drowning incident and from thereon she held an early ambition to study medicine and join Star Fleet Medical.
When Taryn was 13 years old her father was captured on a difficult combat mission to sabotage a Cardassian espionage plot on Rudella, an outpost in Neutral space between the Tallarian Republic and Cardassian Union. Gunnar Randar was consequently tortured under questioning and killed by the Cardassians.
At age 17 years she enrolled in Star Fleet Academy and graduated with honours four years later. After some deliberation once again about joining the Special Forces she decided to enter the Institute of Medicine. At age 24 years she graduated with first class honours and with a desire to travel the Galaxy she joined the USS Republic as a Medical Ensign.
