Personal History

Born to a political family, Yssy's parents are diplomats for there respective planets, Betazed and Valt Minor. She has an older brother Tediin, an archaeologist, who has been missing for two years after leaving for a dig on Krios, a planet in Klingon controlled space, historically enemy to Valt Minor, but allies since reconciliation 2368. Due to her unusual heritage, Yssy is an empathic and telepathic metamorph in the final stages of Finiis'ral. Never one to be a slave to the status quo, Yssy opted for medical intervention and has suppressed her 'heritage' with pheromone inhibitors and meditation. Yssy decided to join Starfleet at 15 and made every decision from that point on to obtain her goal. Against her parents wishes she left for the academy at 17, graduated and was posted on a starship.

Yssy's finiis'ral ended with the bonding to the Changeling Garan. He was pretending to be a Starfleet Doctor aboard the USS Enterprise-E during the Pulsar mission where he was attempting to murder the crew with a genetically engineered virus. She was forced to kill him when she witnessed him brutally murder the Enterprise's CMO, Cdr Jimmy Patel-Wiliiams. She no longer requires the inhibitors, but still is very attractive to the opposite sex.
Eventually Yssy's brother Tediin was found to have faked his own death in order to get away from the rigors of being first born in a political family. He was running from the Romulans after stealing an ancient artifact, a book called the Vriha Afw'ein (Highest Logic/Reason), to hide, he stowed away aboard the USS Gettysburg where he could make contact with his sister who was no longer aboard. The Gettysburg's COS and Commanding Officer (Cdr Darsyn Syntranos and Capt Dan Wueste), discovered Tediin and placed him under arrest until they could contact Yssy who was commanding the USS Philadelphia. Tediin was transferred to the Philadelphia, then later the Copernicus, where he assaulted a Starfleet Officer and escaped in a stolen shuttlecraft. His current whereabouts are unknown.
On a scientific mission to the Polaris System to investigate strange readings from a supposedly uninhabited world, Yssy was captured by a Cardassian Captain who was attempting to rob one of the planets in the System of its natural source of latinum. The crew of the Copernicus witnessed her runabout being destroyed but was unaware of her survival. She spent several months aboard the Cardassian ship, the Vanquish, being tortured by the Captain, Gul Navek. Because of an earlier encounter with an alien mental amplifier, she was able to escape Navek's ship and cause the destruction of the Vanquish. Her ship, Navek's personal shuttle, was detected by the USS Gettysburg, under command of Capt Darsyn Syntranos, and she was returned to Starbase Bravo for Medical attention and evaluation.
Her EMH Doc (John Holiday), was tampered with by the Changeling Garan. Doc is no longer a simple EMH, but more of an autonomous being with free will. Note: Doc does not look like a regular mark 2. He is 6'2", longish curly brown hair, and steel blue eyes. He gets around with the use of a mobile emitter. He has a tendency toward rudeness, and is generally surly to everyone, including sometimes Yssy. When Yssy took command of the USS Copernicus, she released Doc from her services and encouraged him to become his own person. When SB1 was destroyed, he was saved by Commander Jeffrey Blake of Starfleet Security and their whereabouts are currently unknown.

Personality Profile

Hobbies and Pastimes: Enjoys reading and collecting books of any kind. Likes doing origami. Loves cats, and has one named Zeddicus. Also enjoys dabbling in holo-programming, has an Mark 2 EMH
Long-Term Goals: Regain what was taken from her by Garan.
Personality: She is outgoing and laughs easily, but is prone to introspection when alone
Likes: Enjoys being around people. Loves to eat exotic foods, and reading old romance novels.
Dislikes: Politics and infighting.
Achievements: Graduated Starfleet academy, with degrees in medicine, exo-biology and psychology.
Disappointments: Due to the nature of her biology, her biological clock got the best of her and she mate-bonded to a doctor Garan from an earlier mission, unfortunately Garan turned out to be a changeling and she had to kill him. She will never achieve the life-long bond her nature craves.
Strengths: As her parents are both empaths, she is highly empathic with some telepathic ability. She has the gift of seeing both sides of an issue, sometimes to her detriment. People generally feel at ease around her. Due to the bond with Garan, she has uncovered a stronger, more ruthless side of herself and her telepathy. Her telepathy and empathy have been amplified due to exposure of an alien device that left her in a coma for several months.
Weaknesses: In situations of extreme stress or eminent danger she may project the strong emotions of herself and/or people around her.
Distinguishing Features: Faint spots down one side of her face and neck, a trait of her father's heritage. The spots on the left side of her face are gone due to a plasma torch burn on that side of her face. The skin was healed but the spots are gone. Large dark brown eyes, a trait of her mother's heritage.
