Personal History

Early Life

Jenson’s childhood was a pleasant one due to the isolation of their town in the Cataran mountain range. This was perfect for Jenson who would often go climbing with his older brother or just wander the mountain paths. During the RDC occupation it was mostly left alone with a patrol every so often to keep an eye on things. Often Terak would talk about taking on the Jem’hadar and the pair would often hide up on rocky ledges and throw stones at the patrols bellow. However when Jenson was eight he and Terak were waiting to ambush another patrol with an irritating barrage of stones when Terak slipped and fell down the rock wall knocked unconscious. As the Jem’hadar marched by Jenson hid to afraid to climb down and check on his brother but also fearing that a his brother would be spotted and taken away. Even after the Jem’hadar had gone Jenson remained hidden for at least two hours until he heard his brother come too and call out in pain. Jenson climbed down and helped Terak back to town but cursed his cowardice. Since it was a small community people relied upon each other especially during the RDC occupation and often old bits of equipment kept breaking down. As a child Jenson would fiddle around with anything he could in a hope to understand them. Soon he was one of the few that people relied upon to keep everything running. As Jenson progressed through his schooling he began to develop the psionic powers attributed to Betazoid’s. Just being able to feel the emotion of others and touch their minds developed the urge to be around others and even around aliens. Fortunately by the time he was ten the RDC had been driven off world and the Federation returned. When he was sixteen and finished with his schooling Jenson was accepted into the Starfleet training centre at the city of Medara where he hoped to enter Starfleet as an enlisted engineer. His instructor found Jenson to be a quick learner and was impressed with his ability that he offered to sponsor an application to Starfleet academy. The prospect of going earth along with the chance of becoming an officer thrilled Jenson who happily accepted.

Time at the Academy

The academy was a far cry from the schools back on Betazed, finding that people were expected to develop skills on their own rather than the constant encouragement found back home. Jenson embraced this philosophy and excelled at his studies. Interacting with his classmate to begin with was difficult as Jenson found others apprehensive of his telepathic abilities which Jenson had to keep reminding himself not to use without permission among those without the ability. Soon people relaxed around him but were often thrown off balance with his brutal honesty. This did not stop him from developing friendships with many of his class mates including a medical student by the name of Lucy Patel who he met on the academy climbing wall. Jenson grew close to Lucy as they shared many interests. It was Lucy that first introduced Jenson to bars on earth which he found uncomfortable due to the large amount of noise. Lucy insisted that they keep on going in the hope she would help him manage his discomfort. After a while Jenson found a way of managing his phobia and learned to handle persistent loud noises but sudden loud noises still scare him. Even after Lucy graduated a year above him she still kept on contacting Jenson through subspace.

Star Fleet Career

USS Titan

After his graduation, Jenson was assigned to the USS Titan as an Engineering officer. The Titan's first mission was a first contact mission to the planet Kryten between the Federation and Klingon borders. As Starfleet personnel landed on the planet's surface and made contact with the local authorises, a Klingon Bird of Prey decloaked and beamed representatives down as well. After a stand off the Klingons attacked both on the surface and in orbit. The situation was resolved and the Kryten People side with the Federation and applying for membership.

After the Titan's return Jenson found himself back on Betazed attending the wedding of cremates, Yasmin Boehm and Richard Westfield. It was there that he met Sileen Ley whom he was fond of, the two became very close in a short amount of time and spent many days together.

On her next voyage the Titan was on a routine patrol of the Cardassian border when she responded to a distress call from the planet Inferno, where raiders had struck a Ktarian mining project. Jenson was assigned to the away team and assisted in the evacuation of the facility before an ion storm hit.

The Titan was later sent to Sakura Prime and offered medical aid to the colony where a virus was running rampant, mutating the inhabitance into large reptile-like creatures. Fortunately the medical staff were able to save the colony and develop a cure.

After his graduation, Jenson was assigned to the USS Titan as an Engineering officer. The Titan's first mission was a first contact mission to the planet Kryten between the Federation and Klingon borders. USS Columbia

After his time onboard the Titan, Jenson was offered to role of chief engineer for the Columbia. Since this was a special operations posting Jenson was thrilled by this opportunity and took it without much hesitation. The Columbia's first mission involved a raid on a Romulan terrorist stronghold in the Gamma Doradus system. Jenson went out with the reconnaissance team aboard the stealth shuttle Eidolon. Other than that he discovered a rather unpleasant allergy to Altarian Land Crabs.

Departure from Starfleet

During the Columbia's return to Starbase Bravo, Jenson discovered the destruction of Minas Korva and the shock wave that had caused damage to, among other planets, Betazed. Soon after hearing this news he handed in his resignation and attempted to join one of the recovery teams being sent out. His request was denied and soon Jenson found himself stuck on earth. Fortunately for him, the Daystrom Institute was aware of Jenson's experience with the Columbia's AI program Ike, and offered him a job developing similar AI programs for other starfleet vessels. This role brought him back onboard the Columbia temporally for further study of Ike.

Once back Jenson was soon trust into a role he was familiar with, repairing the ship after an attack by Romulan terrorists at Yadalla Prime. The experience left Jenson longing for a return to his former life, and with a believed new threat from the Dominion after the destruction of Bajor, he signed back on once again.
