Holographic Specialist

Holographic specialist is an engineering position aboard Star Fleet starships and space stations, where holographic equipment is present. They are responsible for the upkeep of all holodeck systems, and the maintenance of priority holograms including the Emergency Medical Hologram.

Engineers with this specialty are low in demand, due to the low priority of holodecks aboard ships. Chief Engineers will typically take on an engineer trained in another area over a holographic specialist because all engineers are trained with enough holographic knowledge to maintain upkeep of the system.

These specialists are typically stationed on starbases with a lot of ship traffic, or in the research and development branch of the Star Fleet Corps of Engineers.

Holographic specialists typically major in holographic systems, though many engineers with an interest in the field choose to minor in the field due to the low demand for the position.
