Personal History
Born in New Orleans on Earth, both parents were Star Fleet officers and were killed in the First General War when Jaden was only four years old. His mother was a doctor and his father a tactical officer.
He was raised by his paternal grandparents, Noel and Ida Piper Hawk on a ranch outside New Orleans, whom disapprove of his choice to enter Star Fleet as they fear he will suffer the same fate as his parents.
The death of his parents still haunts him. Left with pictures, his memories are sparse and he only hopes that they would be proud of him.
After graduation from the Academy, Jaden was assigned to the USS Yeager, SC-8018.
Immediately after arriving aboard his new ship, Jaden assisted in an emergency operation of what would be his first patient. Though the medical staff tried everything to save the patient, he died and Jaden was forced to confront not only the loss of his first patient but the painful memories of his parents own death.
Soon after the USS Yeager recaptured Space Station Sierra 18 from pirates, the Yeager crew was reassigned and transferred to the station.
The new crew’s mission was to repair and make the station operational again for the protection and interests of the Federation from enemies foreign or domestic.
With the help of supply ships delivering additional personnel, supplies and modern equipment, Sierra-18 was transformed from an old dilapidated space station into a revitalized and formidable outpost for the Federation. Jaden assisted with repairing and rehabbing the stations Sickbay.
No sooner than the station was operation again, the largest ion storm in 200 years bared down on the Sierra-18. All but a small skeleton crew was evacuated and the crew left behind had the task of weathering the storm by reinforcing its shields by draining power from other sections of the station. Jaden and the other medical personnel stayed behind to assist with any injuries.
The ion storm caused several of the crew members to experience hallucinations and other neurological problems. Jaden discovered a way to counteract this and developed inoculations for the crew. Fearing a shortage of inoculations, Jaden did not inculcate himself. He became ill but thanks to Doctor Callum Hicks, he recovered.
After the ion storm, Jaden was promoted and assigned as Chief Medical Officer of the USS Dauntless under the command of Rear Admiral Dan Wueste. While serving aboard the Dauntless, Jaden decided to take the Command Bridge Officer's Test. Although he did not know then if he wanted to go into Command, he thought it would be good experience. He passed the test with no problems, however the experience forced him to deal with his emotions and fears in regard to his parents death in the line of duty.
When serving on the Dauntless, Jaden became close friends with the Chief Tactical Officer, Zor Kayzon and Medical Officer, Kamble Ross. Together they endured the missions of the Dauntless and forged a close friendship. They all transferred to the USS Pulsar with the rest of the Dauntless crew when Rear Admiral Wueste was given command of the Battleship. After Jaden was promoted and assigned as First Officer of Sierra-18, Kamble replaced him as Chief Medical Officer, and then later named First Officer of the Yeager. Zor was also promoted to First Officer of the Pulsar.
Once back on Sierra-18, Jaden was happy to be reunited with some of his former crewmates, Gabe Archer, Chief Science Officer and Chief Tactical Officer Dietrich Kaiser, missing however was his best friend Julia Nielson. Jules had been promoted and accepted the assignment of First Officer on the USS Dauntless, then moved up the ranks to captain the USS Yeager.
For Jaden, Sierra-18 had changed quite a bit since his first posting there. Only Kaiser and Archer remained as people he knew. Captain Valiant had been replaced by Commodore Roberts. While Jaden enjoyed serving under the Commodore, the station was putting itself back together after Romulan occupation from the war.
While serving on a space station and a starship were different, each had their own unique challenges and rewards. Jaden worked hard to carry out these duties with all diligence expected of a Star Fleet Officer.
His hard work and diligence paid off as Jaden's dream of commanding his own starship came true when he was appointed as Commanding Officer of the USS Copernicus.
After several successful missions aboard the USS Copernicus, Jaden was selected as the Commanding Officer for the USS Mercy, a new class medical cruiser. The ship is well suited for his medical and command experience.
