Personal History

Dudley was born into royalty. He is the direct descendant of the Plantagenet family, the first Earl of Rutland, England, established in 1390

The family lost most of its wealth in the Great Financial Crisis of the 2011. Chester, Dudley's younger brother still holds some rich faming land in Rutland and the family still retains the ancient title 'Earl of Rutland', now passed down to the eldest son, Dudley. Anne, his younger sister, is a want-to-be socialite of London and a disappointment to Dudley

Dudley, as a child was always interested in science, and still has his first and only substantial virtual collection of butterflies. Unfortunately he could do nothing right by his father who favoured Chester is brother. He studied medicine first a Cambridge and then Oxford gaining several specialty Doctorates, finally entering a professorship at Cambridge at the age of 20. His father was not impressed and told him that to be a true Earl of Rutland he needed military experience.

To please his father, he join Starfleet, and quickly progress to the rank of Lieutenant, despite his absentmindedness, serving on Earth in various capacities. When the end of the Krynar war came, in which his father and mother where both killed, he immediately apply for service on a starship. He felt his medical brilliance could serve a vital purpose there. He felt obliged to fulfil his father wish of proper service.
