Events
- The USS Jenolan, while en route to a colony on Norpin V, encounters a Dyson sphere. The ship becomes trapped in the sphere's gravity well, and unfortunately crashes.
There are only two survivors, Ensign Franklin and passenger Captain Montgomery Scott. Unable to wait for a rescue, they place themselves in suspended animation by storing their patterns in the pattern buffer of the ship's transporter.
- A northern continent on Oby VI is afflicted by a plasma plague. Scientists sent by the Federation develop a supposed cure which proves ineffective.
