• The Khitomer Conference takes place, paving the way for nearly 100 years of peace between the Klingon Empire and the Federation.
  Curzon Dax is one of the Federation diplomats present who negotiates the Accords.

• The USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-A is decommissioned.

• The USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-B is commissioned under command of Captain John Harriman. On its initial cruise, James T. Kirk is believed killed.

• Tuvok graduates from Star Fleet Academy, and is assigned to the starship USS Excelsior, under the command of Captain Sulu.
