Wooly slug

An animal lifeform native to Ferenginar, specifically the plains of "Splort."

Slow and docile creatures, they could be easily controlled. The herding of wooly slugs was a lucrative business for many Ferengi, who were called "slugboys."
The natural enemy of the wooly slug is the "snailosaurus," which is only slightly faster than its prey. When not hunted, the wooly slug had an average lifespan of twelve years.

Wooly slugs can be consumed as slug steaks, while their hides are used for clothing.
