Vandros IV

Vandros IV is the fourth planet in the Vandros star system, located in the Gamma Quadrant.
At the fringe of documented Dominion space, it was also inhabited by the Iconians over 200,000 years ago.

The Iconians inhabited the planet, and its surrounding area, over two hundred thousand years ago. This planet is also close to Hoek IV, Sampalo and the Lantar Nebula.

According to records discovered by Ambassador Worf in 2409, the Iconians maintained Level 9 surveillance of Vandros IV and its nearby worlds. The records also stated that the Iconians considered the Dominion too strong to dominate without first subsuming the major powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

History

In 2372, Dominion scientists discovered an intact Iconian gateway in the ruins of an ancient Iconian city.
The scientists attempted to restore the ancient Gateway, but their Jem'Hadar soldiers rebelled, and seized the gateway, hoping to use it to launch a coup d'état within the Dominion.
They began to work on the gateway on Vandros themselves, stealing technology from Deep Space 9 among other places.
The gateway was later destroyed by a combined team of Starfleet officers led by Captain Benjamin Sisko, and Jem'Hadar soldiers.

• After killing Vorta field supervisor Weyoun 4, the Jem'Hadar troops elected to stay behind on the planet to hunt down the remaining enemy Jem'Hadar.
