Starbase 201 is a Federation starbase.

It has personnel who specialize in xenobiology and exopsychology.

Since the starbase is considered a highly scientifically-focused station, it is located deeper within Federation space. This station's primary research is medical-related, and also has a renowned psychology program.

• They are also known for having admitted and released the most amount of psych patients compared to any other Federation station.

In 2371, Starfleet Command decided that a young Jem'Hadar found on Deep Space 9 was to be brought to Starbase 201 for study.
