Starbase 172

Starbase 172 was a Federation starbase administrated by Starfleet.

In 2369, in an effort to locate a missing shuttlecraft, this starbase's sensors were tied in with those of the USS Enterprise-D's, as well as with the planetary sensor array on the planet Wyath,
in order to form a triangulation pattern to detect unique materials known to be on the shuttle, allowing the vessel to be found.
