Starbase 1 was a Federation starbase that orbited Earth in the early 25th century. The starbase was the headquarters for all Star Fleet forces in the Sol System. The starbase was critical in repelling a Romulan attack on Earth during the Second Federation/Romulan War.
It was destroyed by a Borg fleet on Stardate 20211.14. After the Borg were defeated on Stardate 20305.01, Starbase Alpha was moved via Tholian web technology to the former position of Starbase 1.
