Selay (planet)

Selay is an inhabited planet in the Beta Renner system, located in Sector 500.

Homeworld to the Selay, a snake-like, warp-capable species, this planet was at war with the Antican people until roughly 2364.

Shortly after achieving spaceflight and first contact with their neighbors on Antica, the people of Selay were at war with them.
Before first contact with the Federation, the Ferengi had been in light contact with this planet, likely for trade purposes.

In 2364, Selay applied for Federation membership, and was told that in order to be accepted, they had to be at peace with their neighbors, the Anticans. The Enterprise-D carried a group of delegates from each planet to a neutral location, but the Selay delegates were murdered by the Anticans before the journey was complete. Though peace was not achieved in this year, by 2378, Selay had been granted Federation membership.
