An orbital habitat is a facility in space where people can live. Earth, for example, has several of these habitats in its orbit.
Also sometimes called a space settlement, space colony, spacestead, space city, orbital settlement or orbital colony.
The living quarters are more advanced than living on a space station or starbase, with the main reason being that these habitats are meant to be permanent.
