New Talax is the new home of the Talaxian species, following their migration across the Delta Quadrant.
New Talax is found in a planetary system close to the Beta Quadrant border. Consisting of four planets and two asteroid belts, it has no native sentient species. The two inner planets are both rocky, classes B and M respectively, bounded by an asteroid field, with a pair of gas giants in the outer system, with a second asteroid field acting as a barrier at the system’s edge.
New Talax proper is a lush planet, with numerous native flora and fauna species. Among these are a large ursine predator, several examples of a small vulpine breed with the temperament of Terran canines, and numerous types of fruit trees. Health note: Several species of fruit tree have been observed to cause allergic reactions in Vulcanoid species.
Notable locations on New Talax include the primary settlement of New Paxau; it is located in the planet’s northern hemisphere on the largest continent. A coastal city, it is nestled at the foot of a small mountain range on a major river, well situated for further expansion and agriculture. On the other side of the planet is the Desivren Valley, a large mountain valley that was severely damaged by a crashed Malon freighter. It was irradiated by the freighter’s waste cargo; though the radiation has since been cleaned up, the area is still deemed off-limits for the next several decades and will be monitored for any residual effects on the flora and fauna in the area.
